The next occasion to present BaSIC will be in Vilnius, Lithuania during "The Baltic Dynamics Conference".
The 2009 Baltic Dynamics Conference – The Dynamics of Innovation Spaces: Bringing Innovation to Society – will be held in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania on 30 September to 3 October, 2009.

Road Show in St. Petersburg, 29th Sept – 1st Oct 2010

From 29th September to 1st October 2010 the second road show was held in St. Petersburg. This event was organized in the course of the 3rd International Innovation Forum of St. Petersburg and the exhibition Russian Entrepreneurs(http://enforum.spbinno.ru/).There were represented 4,000 participants, 600 companies and 11 countries. The Forum was a notable event, the main goal was the elaboration of key decisions, references and measures for the implementation of the plan of innovation economic development.

BaSIC in the St Petersburg International Innovation Forum 2010

BaSIC project and many partners participate in St Petersburg International Innovation Forum 29.9-1.10.2010. Special event 29.9.2010 is focusing the European-Russian partnersip BaSIC project co-operation.

Committee of the Regions Study Visit to Helsinki-Uusimaa Region

EU Committee of the Regions ECOS Commission will have a Study Visit to Helsinki-Uusimaa Region 5-7.9.2010. Target is to explore new concepts to encourage regions towards societal innovations.

On Monday 6.9 at Otaniemi in City of Espoo the program includes presentations of Aalto University new concept, Culminatum Innovation Competitiveness Development & International Networking, Laurea University of Applied Sciences Active Life Village and Otaniemi Marketing assisting foreign companies to set up in Espoo and Helsinki region.

Nine representatives from the BaSIC partner regions presented their Photonics, Micro and Nano Technology clusters during the BaSIC Cluster Colloquium at Laser Optics Berlin 2010. The programme and the presentations made can now be downloaded below.

BaSIC presented during IASP European Division Workshop in Tallinn, 30th March 2010

The workshop aims to analyze and summarise the European cooperation experience and cases, to exchange and develop practical methods and to meet and discuss with colleagues.
Mr. Linnar Viik (Member of the Board, European Institute of Innovation and Technology) will conduct a Plenary Lecture on the "Importance of Cross-Border Collaboration and Actual Availability of Co-Location Instruments for Modern Innovation Trends", after which the delegates will form three workgroups to discuss:

Lithuanian-Finnish Forum on Investment Promotion

BaSIC project active networking helped Invest Lithuania to organise a high level study trip to Helsinki in order to exchange the best practices on national and regional strategies promoting investment and transnational cooperation opportunities with a focus on business internationalisation opportunities. This experience exchange 14-15.4.2010 was offered through the partnership of Invest Lithuania, BaSIC partners Culminatum Innovation and Sunrise Valley and the Embassy of Lithuania in Finland.

Helsinki-Uusimaa Region awarded the European Entrepreneurial Region 2012

The EU Committee of the Regions has labelled Helsinki-Uusimaa as the European Entrepreneurial Region (EER) 2012. The decision was published Feb 11, 2010 at the Committee meeting in Brussels. Granted for the first time, the award attracted 36 regional nominees. The title was apportioned to three regions for the year 2011 and three for 2012. The award serves as recognition to those areas with the most credible plan of action promoting entrepreneurship with realistic foresight and outstanding political vision.
